Stella's Fairy Bread party!

With my little Aussie turning 5, I decided upon an Australian quintessential party classic, fairy bread! How cute did it turn out? It all started from the little fairy bread coin purse I saw online from Make Me Iconic - the perfect match for Stella! Stella actually turned 5 last month however, with a heavy work and university I offered a day trip to Luna Park or a deferred birthday party... as you can see Stella chose the latter. That said, the party was nearly further delayed due to my recent ankle injury (I torn 3 ligaments in my ankle a week before the due date). When I broke the news, Stella was devastated.... so my awesome family rallied together to make sure the party went ahead as planned. As you can see my usual forward planning came in very handy and Lauren and Annabel did an amazing job with the shopping, decorating and baking. They did an amazing job don't you think? I am so proud of my girls. Looks like the apple does not fall far from the tree? Happy to report it was great school holiday activity, it helped keep them occupied at home while I have spent the week on the couch. Thank you again to my amazing friend Gabriela from Nina Design & Parties for your collaboration and helping me design the fairy bread character and party printables! Literally I don't think Little Paper Plate would be the same without you!  You have the'sweetest' aesthetic! Thank you also to Rebecca Hollis from Sweet Crush for her incredible cupcakes and cake!  I The cake was epic don't you think!  Also a big thank you to all of my family and friends for sharing a laugh, coffee and some winter sunshine at my place! I hope you like all of the details and photos as much as I enjoyed creating them... I especially loved my handmade fairy bread pinata (thanks Studio DIY for the idea); handmade fondant cupcake cookies and brilliant idea to use pom poms as extra decorative sprinkles (even on the walls) and to 'up-cycle' a plain pink dress to make into the perfect sprinkle party dress for Stella! ! I really do need a creative outlet... it helps me cope to the stresses of nursing....I think this is my favorite party to date... who does not love fairy bread and sprinkles!? Big love Felicity xx P.s as always Styling and photos by me - if you want to share - I love paying it forward just remember to please tag and give credit!  P.P.s If you don't already follow my Instagram account - please come and follow me here: I would love to try and break 4,000 followers!  I will be sharing extra photos and details here from now on! xxx

Annabel’s 8th cupcake party

I know I say this often however, pulling together a party with all the chaos of life, work and uni is exhausting! That said Annabel begged to have a party this year and offered to help design and create all of the details! So with the idea of spending precious time with Annabel on the table I really had no choice but to say yes!

Once again I contacted Gabriela from Nina Designs to collaborate of the party design.  Gabriela told me that colour was very ‘hot’ right now so we decided to depart from my usual monochromatic palate and create a colorful party! I know I say this every time but Gabriela did an exception job and I have found a collaborative geninus that truly makes the party!  You can check out more of her modern and graphic party printables HERE.

Unlike my usual early preparations, this party was pulled together in record time to bring all the details together! Annabel was true to her words and helped with the paper cutting, decorations and baking! Again such a great way to spend precious time with my girls! The dessert table was set against a backdrop of cute cupcake designed by Gabriela from Nina Designs.  It was so much easier to just print out a large scale image rather than construct an image from hand!  On the dessert table I wanted to keep the display as colorful as possible with accent use of rainbows! I kept the plate ware simple and added the colour with a yellow cake plate and some cute paper wrappers!

The children enjoyed my fondant cupcake cookies. These are truly a labor of love and were made in one day between my other commitments (they usually take me a few days)!  I think these cookies have truly become a ‘Little Paper Plate’ Signature!  I also served giant marshmallows dipped in white chocolate and sprinkles!  I saw this idea on one of my favourite blogs (Sweet Style) a few years ago and put in my back pocket for the right occasion!  They are totally sweet and an easy party treat!  Thank you also to Something for Cake for the awesome sprinkles!  Quickly just a shout out to my fellow Sydney-siders and Australians… if you are looking for modern party and baking supplies then head into Something for Cake.  I have been a customer of there's for a few years now and have always appreciated the help bringing my baking alive!  Lately I have been really impressed with the recent changes they have made to their baking supplies and offerings.  They have some amazing modern themed cake decorating kits, themed party decorations and cake toppers! So if you are in the market for party goods head into the store or the website HERE.

For the cake and cupcakes I reached out to my ‘cake dealer’ and friend Rebecca from Sweetcrush.  Rebecca did an amazing job on the cake and cupcakes and literally saves my sanity for every party I throw.  You can check out more of Rebecca’s baking talent on her Instagram account HERE

For the party due to time constraints I kept it simple with a photo booth to create lovely mementos of the day, rainbow masks and a performer from Stardust Kids to entertain the girls.  Totally worth it every time!

I hope you enjoy the party pictures and details as much as I enjoyed making them and join me in wishing my Annabel the sweetest birthday!

Big love Felicity xx

Please note I am not paid for any of these referrals or business shout outs, I just do because I believe in paying it forward and giving credit where it is due!

Stella's Koala Party

Our dearest Stella aka ‘little koala’ turned the big 4! Again without sounding like a broken record managing to pull another birthday party together while working full time proved to be a huge challenge! That said there was never has a chance to be let off the hook as Stella has been dreaming about her party for the past six months! So with that I decided to create a koala theme based on a sweet little costume from Sparrow and B and dress by Milk and Masuki that I saw on Instagram. I also chose the theme (with Stella's approval of course) as Stella is always attached on my back for constant cuddles! For the party I decided for my sanity to keep the numbers down by just inviting a small number of Stella's preschool buddies.  For the design I again reached out to my Gabriela from Nina Designs and Parties.  In her usual awesomeness, Gabriela created this sweet little koala printable set based on a crochet koala toy I purchased from a local children's toy store. I especially loved the thank you tags, colouring page and the pass the parcel leaf to keep the little ones occupied!  Amazing job as always Gabriela!

The dessert table was set against a backdrop of a cute koala face and mint coloured gum leaves (designed by Gabriela) which was a little nod to Stella’s panda party!  On the dessert table I wanted to keep the display simple with accent use of grey.  I placed the cute crochet toy, small lovely plain grey cups and some grey and white striped paper straws.  I also added I cute koala bunting (designed by Gabriela) which helped with the table symmetry.  Again it would not be a party without my fun and popular fondant cookies.  I think they turned out well!? I also reached out to my reliable cake dealer Rebecca from SweetCrush for her amazing sweet buttercream treats. Thank you Rebecca the cake was amazing as always! You can check out more of Rebecca’s baking talent on her Instagram account HERE. I served lamingtions and iced vovo’s to add to the Australian vibes (both classic Australian treats) and made sure I had the coffee brewing for the adults!

For this party I have to concede I was genuinely exhausted on the day and therefore the photography was very grainy and not my best work. Without blaming my tools I also think there is something wrong with my camera as I was dealing with error messages left, right and centre... anyway you still get a feel for the details!

Big love Felicity xx
